Her legendary performances have captivated Renaissance festivals and concert audiences alike. Her distinctive musical approach, now described as Celtic Jazz, combines traditional Folk melodies with Jazz phrasing, improvisation, and storytelling traditions.
The Album
This album represents her 4th recording project and reflects years of artistic development, bridging Celtic musical heritage with American Contemporary Jazz expression. Her first 2 traditional British ballad CDs are cataloged in the Library of Congress for preservation, recognizing the historical and cultural importance of the traditional music she performs and preserves.
Collaborations
Joining her and featured throughout the recording is Dr. Mike Bogle, ASCAP recording artist and four-time Grammy nominee, recognized internationally for his Jazz arranging, orchestration, and musical collaborations. His Grammy-recognized work honoring Chick Corea and others helped define the sophisticated harmonic language heard throughout these recordings.
Together Mesiah & Bogle present a recording that bridges centuries of musical tradition-from ancient Celtic storytelling and Sea Chanty’s to modern Jazz harmony and improvisational artistry. A harmonious fusion of cultures, history, storytelling with modern American Jazz uniqueness.
